Dressing up in fun outfits, cheering on your team, and hanging out with your friends under those Friday Night Lights.

There’s nothing like it!

Blackout themes are especially fun. Especially when you get your entire student section in on it!

If your school is doing a blackout theme at your next football game (or any sporting event), you’ll need an outfit that combines style and school spirit.

This post is all about inspiration on doing just that.

I’m sharing 12 different outfit combinations you can wear at your next blackout game and throughout the season.

I’ll be touching on everything from shirts, footwear, headwear, body paint, skirts, jackets, and more to help you put together the perfect look.

12 Blackout Outfits For A Football Game

#1: Fringe T-Shirt, Shorts, & Face Paint

Have a plain, black t-shirt you’re not sure what to do with?

Take a pair of scissors and turn it into a super cute fringe shirt for game day.

If you’re not sure where to start, you can always use a helpful video tutorial like this one.

If you don’t feel like getting crafty, there’s always the option to buy a fringe shirt already made and ready to go.

Finish the look with a pair of simple black shorts and other black accessories like shoes, hair ties, and bracelets.

#2: Leggings, Sweatshirt, & Puffy Vest

Here’s a cute look for fall and winter games, or anytime it’s a little bit chillier outside.

This look is all about the layers!

A great outfit combo you can go with here is boots, leggings, hoodie, vest, and hat - all black of course in the spirit of the theme.

#3: Crop Top, Skirt, & Feather Boa

Wearing a feather boa is SUCH a fun idea for blackout outfits!

And the heart shaped sunglasses? Adorable.

Pair accessories of your own with a simple crop top and black skirt.

Black sneakers will look cute here for footwear, and are always a comfy option.

Especially if you know you’ll be doing a lot of walking.

#4: Cropped T-Shirt, Shorts, & Fishnet Stockings

If you love a bit of a rebellious look to your fashion, you’ll love this next outfit idea!

Grab a cropped t-shirt and pair it with fishnet stockings, ripped denim shorts, and sneakers.

This is another fun DIY opportunity, too! I love how the girls in the example photo made matching “senior” shirts.

Get some friends together and use fabric markers or fabric paint to create matching shirts of your own, and don’t forget to grab a group photo at the game for memories.

#5: Tie-Dye T-Shirt & Leggings

Speaking of group photos, here’s another cute one for inspiration!

These girls’ outfits feature matching tie dye t-shirts, plain black leggings, and white socks and sneakers.

I’m also loving the hair accessories of tiaras and cowgirl hats. What an especially cute idea for seniors!

If you feel like your outfit needs a little something more but you can’t quite figure out what, try adding a fun piece of headwear like in the photo.

Not in the mood to style a whole outfit? No worries!

You can still make it to blackout game day looking cute and put together using simple pieces like this.

Look around your room for any plain tank tops, leggings, t-shirts, or hair accessories to use, and complete the look with your everyday sneakers.

To recreate this blackout outfit, simply pair any black top and shorts together.

For simplistic designs, I recommend using large body paint crayons like these that’ll get the job done quick.

For more detailed designs, try using body paint and a small brush for more control.

#8: T-Shirt, Shorts, & Bandana

Love cowgirl inspired looks? Add a bandana to your blackout game day outfit!

Some cute ways you can wear one include around your wrist, around your neck, on your head, or over your face.

#9: T-Shirt Dress

Next in my list of blackout outfits is probably the easiest of them all.

Take a long black t-shirt and wear it as a dress!

Pair it with black shorts underneath and matching sneakers, sandals, or Crocs for footwear.

A really cute hairstyle that goes well with this outfit is to take a small section of your hair and tie it on top of your head (see above picture).

Use a fun black bow or scrunchie to secure your hair!

#10: Cropped Tank & Sweatpants

How fun is this next look?

Pair a crop top with sweatpants and layer with a black jacket if it’s chilly.

Use fabric paint like this set to decorate your pants and show off your school pride!

#11: Handprints Body Paint Design

This idea focuses on body paint.

A cute design idea you can try is to use body paint, cover your hands, and make a handprint design all over your legs.

This is such a fun and spirited look that’s sure to level up your game day look!

#12: Tank Top, Leggings, & Sneakers

And finally, here’s another fun outfit to recreate for your next blackout game.

This is a great look for when it’s hot out, too. Pair a strappy black tank top or crop top with black leggings or jeggings.
