Looking to add some cheeriness to your dorm room? You’re in the right place!
In this post, I’m sharing my top spring-themed dorm decor ideas perfect for revamping and refreshing your space for the new season.
These ideas use lots of happy colors, plant/floral imagery, and bright, airy decor - all inspired by the beauty of springtime.
That certainly doesn’t mean you can’t incorporate these looks into your dorm during other seasons, though.
It’s never a bad time for some spring cheer, after all! Without further ado, let’s get into the decor.
17 Spring Dorm Decor Ideas
#1: Bright & Happy Colors
This first piece of inspiration focuses on using bright, happy, and cheerful colors in your space.
Use whatever colors make you the happiest, but “springy” colors like pink, yellow, and green are a great place to start!
I’m also loving all of the spring imagery in the wall art that the above dorm uses - rainbows, smiley faces, and sunshine galore.
#2: Matcha Green Aesthetic
If this next piece of inspiration is calling your name, there’s a chance you’re obsessed with green like I am!
This look is all about using sage/matcha green as your primary decor color and complimenting it with other springy accent colors.
I adore how the green in the blanket, dino plushie, and flower market print all tie together so beautifully.
There’s also plenty of pretty white textured bedding, macrame wall hangings, and a pink flowery wall print to add to the fresh, airy, spring vibes of this dorm room.
#3: Floral Pillows, Vine Strands, & Spring Wall Collage
This one is for anyone who loves a natural, cute, cozy, and earthy aesthetic.
I’ve been seeing these flower throw pillows everywhere and they are just absolutely adorable.
I’d totally get them for my own apartment if they didn’t clash with my design theme! So I got one for my sister’s dorm instead. Of course, she loved it!
To recreate this look, besides flower pillows, look for vine strands and nature themed art prints.
#4: Soft, Earthy, Natural Vibes
Here’s another gorgeous spring dorm decor idea for anyone obsessing over a natural, earthy aesthetic.
To bring this idea to life in your own dorm, look for sage green and tan/off white pieces to use in the bulk of your decor. Use soft, colorful pieces like a beautiful butterfly wall tapestry as accents.
I’m also loving the floating macrame shelf and planter above the headboard. So cozy, yet airy! And the little mushroom throw pillow on the bed - ahhh - to die for!
#5: “Falling” Floral Wall Hanging
If you’ve got a lonely shelf in your dorm you’ve been wanting to spruce up, look no further for decor inspiration.
You can DIY this gorgeous “falling” flower look by getting a set of fake flower pieces and tying them onto clear bracelet cord. Super easy to do and the result is beautiful!
#6: Pink, Green, & Yellow Decor
This dorm looks like the perfect cozy place to curl up with a good book or have a movie night with friends.
A pink, green, and yellow color palette is one full of joy! Perfect for springtime.
I’ve got my eye on that cute yellow floor pouf and those throw pillows on the bed (especially the pink round one)!
And how have I not mentioned the pink floor rug yet? What a fun and pretty pattern. I’m totally getting retro vibes.

#7: Floral Wall Posters
These flower market art prints are another super trendy piece I’ve seen all over Pinterest lately - and for good reason!
I’m a huge fan of the simplistic, minimal illustration style. These prints are the perfect sweet, happy edition to any blank wall.
If you’re not allowed to use thumb tacks in your dorm to hang up your prints, I recommend using sticky putty like this one instead.
It’s what I used back when I lived in a dorm, and it was a great balance between being strong enough to keep my prints on the wall without tearing paint off.
#8: Peachy Pink Theme
Pink, pink, pink! And blue! And white! Is this dorm not absolutely adorable?
This is a great inspiration picture for your mood board if you’re a fan of bright, feminine, and soft designs. And of course - if you’re a fan of pink.
This dorm uses a pretty balance of a soft/almost baby pink with a more peachy pink, and uses white bedding and blue accent colors in the furniture and wall decor to tie everything together.
If you want to recreate the art print look for your own wall, here’s an adorable pack to check out.
I highly recommend having a three tier rolling cart like the blue one in the picture in your dorm, by the way. I had one in my dorm and it helped a ton with storage.
I kept most of my make up, hair tools, and hygiene essentials in mine, so all I had to do was roll it out from under my bed in the morning and roll it back underneath once I was done getting ready!
#9: Light & Airy Neutrals
Looking for some inspiration that leans towards the neutral and minimalist aesthetic? This one should be right up your alley!
This dorm room looks like a breath of fresh air. I’m in love with how bright, soft, and airy the vibe is.
Note all of the beautiful details that make this space feel warm, earthy and bohemian - the organic shapes and squiggles in the wall art, the texture in the bedding, throw blanket, and macrame decor pieces, and of course - the plant decor on the desk and shelf display.

#10: Vine Strands & Plenty of Pink
This one is sweet and simple, yet trendy. If you’re wanting to keep the amount of dorm decor you buy to a minimum, this is a great photo to take inspiration from.
To recreate this look, find an extra-long set of vine strands and add some accessories like a round, wood wall mirror, a throw blanket, some throw pillows, and voila!
You’ve got yourself a super pretty dorm room all ready for the springtime.
#11: “Floating” Floral Wall & Mirror
This decor inspiration is similar to the “falling” floral idea I mentioned earlier in this post (idea #5), but this one is a “floating” version!
Clear bracelet cord will still work if you like this version better, or you can use sticky putty to get more of that “floating” look.
Place the putty more on the "flower” parts of your flowers and avoid the stem if you can - so as to conceal the putty!
Still feels like your wall needs something? Add in a cute little mirror to surround with flowers. Perfect.
#12: White With Colorful Accents
This spring dorm decor idea uses a simple and effective formula for design success: white with colorful accents. The key here is to use white or off-white for all of your “big” dorm pieces.
Think things like bedding and furniture. For a touch of cozy charm, add some western bedding in vibrant colors and patterns to complete the look!
Fill in the rest of your space with smaller pops of color using things like art prints, lamps, books, throw pillows, etc.
#13: Green With Pastel Accents
Next is this beautiful dorm room with plenty of soft pastel tones and cute greenery.
We’ve got a classic white comforter that acts as a base for the colorful tones that complement it.
Simple throw pillows and throw blankets act to cozy up the space while hanging light strings and vine stands add some movement and texture.
#14: Pink Pink Pink
This space features an iconic spring time color: pink! The baby pink tones throughout the space bring a fresh and airy feel perfect for the season of new beginnings.
This dorm also has a plethora of soft textures like plush rugs and fuzzy pillows that bring a cozy atmosphere to the space.
#15: Boho Spring
This is a super cute dorm to take inspiration from if you love the color pink and bohemian decor.
A staple of boho style, this space has so many beautiful references to nature. For instance, you’ve got the hanging wall planters and a floral inspired arched headboard.
To add some visual intrigue, there’s also lots of textures like woven patterns, tassels, and plush blankets.
#16: Woven Chandelier & Peach Tones
One simple trick to instantly elevate your dorm room for spring (or any season) is to add a statement chandelier.
It adds a visual focal point to your space, drawing the eye upward the creating the illusion of a higher ceiling.
This beautiful dorm also has plenty of light tones that create an open and airy atmosphere that’s perfect for spring.
#17: Desk Storage & Bright Colors
Don’t forget to spruce up your desk area for spring, too! Here’s a cute example of how you can do that.
First off, an add-on shelving unit like the one in the photo is such an easy way to make the most of your desk storage, but also display aesthetic trinkets.
This desk blends aesthetic and functionality by storing vanity essentials like a mirror and makeup as well as decor like picture frames and books.
