Boho room decor is all about that cozy, casual, earthy feel.
I’m a huge fan of this decor trend and decorating in general, so I’m super excited to be sharing three tips and essential elements of a boho room with you.
Here are three essential elements of a well-designed boho interior and thirteen pieces of decor inspiration.
Boho Room Decor
Tip #1: Use Warm, Earthy Tones
The first element of the boho decor trend I want to talk about is color! Boho is known for using warm, earthy, color palettes.
Think colors like brown, green, tan, orange, and terracotta tones. Colors like these make for a super friendly, warm, and inviting place.
The idea is to take inspiration from nature and bring some of those beautiful natural tones into your room.

Tip #2: Textures & Patterns
Another essential tip to pulling off a boho room is to use lots of textures and patterns in your decor.
Boho decor is quite different from other styles in that it’s encouraged to use lots of different textures and patterns in your space, so this is a great opportunity to have fun and really express your style!
One way to make a bold statement while staying true to this eclectic aesthetic is by incorporating oversized wall art. These large pieces can tie together the room's varied elements and serve as a stunning focal point that reflects your unique personality.
Now, for texture! In this inspiration image above, you’ll notice lots of woven textures like in the chandelier, bench, rug, and mirror. Woven styles offer a beautiful handmade and organic feel that fits in perfectly with any boho interior. You’ll also notice lots of nature-based textures like the wood furniture and the leaves of the plants.
For patterns, try either Native American-inspired patterns or Southwest-inspired patterns! These types of patterns are fantastic for boho room decor thanks to their warm, earthy color schemes and nature-inspired patterns.
You can also look for patterns or artwork that uses lots of nature subjects like flowers, trees, and landscapes. Here’s some great boho pattern inspiration below:
Tip #3: Incorporate Elements Of Nature
The final and likely the most important tip I’m covering today is one I’ve been talking about throughout the post!
The most iconic part of boho style is the inspiration it takes from nature. Incorporating natural elements like earthy tones, organic patterns, and personal touches can make a space feel uniquely your own.
Adding creative projects, such as high-quality paint by numbers, is a great way to reflect individuality while staying true to the boho aesthetic.
Whether it’s in the colors, textures, patterns, materials used, or imagery, paying homage to the earth is a huge part of this decor trend.
Take a look at our inspiration image above, for example. You’ll notice elements of nature in the sun-shaped mirror, moon wall hanging, rainbow art prints, in the plants on top of the dresser, and in the wood materials in the dresser, picture frames, and lantern.
Combined with the earthy color palette and natural textures, it all comes together to make an absolutely beautiful boho corner.

Bohemian Bedroom Inspiration
With my tips out of the way, let’s take a look at some decor examples to see these concepts in action.
#1: OOTD Corner
A super cute and functional idea for your room is to create an OOTD corner, as I like to call it. Simply find a full-length mirror that matches the aesthetic you’re going for and surround it with some pretty decorations.
#2: Rust & Green
This next inspo pic makes beautiful use of traditional bohemian colors with plenty of rich rust and dark green tones.
#3: Light & Airy
To make your space feel a little more open and airy, consider decorating with lighter colors like beige and off-white!
#4: Wintery White
For the ultimate cozy boho aesthetic, you’ll definitely want to take inspiration from this next space. This room seamlessly integrates wintery whites with plush fabrics next to classic boho colors and textures.
#5: Plant Haven
Plants are a staple of boho room decor! Display yours in adorable fashion with one of these ladder shelving units.
#6: Textures
This next room integrates so many gorgeous textures, really bringing that boho style to life.
I’m especially loving those throw pillows on the bed - so many cute plush details and knit patterns!
#7: Green Galore
This room is a fresh take on classic bohemian colors, with a focus on soft green instead of rust, orange, or pink.
The green is gorgeously complemented by lots of woven details and tan tones to create a very earthy and organic atmosphere.
#8: Simplicity
Boho interiors are known for being full to the brim with a mix of patterns, colors, and textures, but that doesn’t mean you can’t tone it down for a minimalist approach to this style.
#9: Coziness
Calling all cozy bedroom lovers! This room shows off a plethora of soft textures like carpet flooring, rugs, throw blankets, floor poufs, and pillows.
This is the key to creating a cozy and relaxing atmosphere in your space, in my opinion.
#10: Sun & Flowers
And finally, incorporating elements of nature into your room doesn’t have to be as literal as placing a potted plant on your dresser.
For example, this space features a gorgeous headboard that resembles a floral design, still bringing a natural beauty to the room.
