Looking to create your dream workspace? You’re in luck! In today’s post, I’ll be sharing three gorgeous black and white desk decor ideas inspired by Pinterest.

Anyone who loves decor or visual design of any kind likely has Pinterest.

It’s become so common place that I’ve heard many things described as “Pinteresty” or as having a “Pinterest aesthetic.”

So, I decided to write a whole blog post all about aesthetic black and white desk decor inspired by the best ideas on Pinterest!

Black and white decor offers a classic, simple, and timeless look that never goes out of style.

Whether you’re looking for inspiration for your dorm room desk or for your home office, these desk setups are sure to leave you feeling excited and inspired to get decorating!

I’ll also be sharing my best tips to recreate these desk setups for yourself as well as my top finds when it comes to furniture, decor, and desk accessories to get each look.

So, here are my top three black and white desk ideas - and how to recreate them.

Black & White Desk Idea #1:

Here’s your first Pinterest-inspired black and white desk setup!

I’m absolutely loving how well everything matches in this workspace, from the furniture, wall art, desk decor, and more.

If simple, minimalist design with a cozy touch is your style, this is definitely an idea you’ll want to recreate for yourself.

Now, I’ll get into my top finds if you love this piece of inspiration and want to get the look for yourself.

First, I’ll be covering the furniture:

I found the exact chair used because I actually have this chair in my own apartment and recognized it instantly! I love how sleek and minimal it is.

It definitely reminds me of Scandinavian interior design, but it’s simple enough that it goes with a wide variety of decor styles.

For the desk, I found a pretty close match on Amazon that I think pairs great with the white chair.

Again, sleek and simple is the name of the game for this first desk setup.

It still offers some storage in the form of two drawers, which is a major plus in my book!

Okay, now on to wall decor. For this part, I actually found a super aesthetic black and white photo wall collage I think would match this look perfectly.

These types of photo collages are super trendy right now, and I absolutely love the classic look you get by incorporating black and white photography into your desk decor.

Photo wall collages are also an easy way to make your wall decor look well-coordinated if you’re not confident in your decorating skills.

You can also have fun arranging the pictures however you like!

A simple layout like the one below works great, but you can even try arranging them in different shapes like a heart.

If you don’t want to use these for your wall, no problem! Use them to decorate your laptop, planner, notebook, or anywhere else.

Next is the desk (and chair) decor! I found some gorgeous decor pieces inspired by our Pinterest black and white desk theme and I’m super excited to share them with you.

The piece I’m probably the most excited about is this black and white coffee table book stack from Amazon.

I love coffee table books because to me, they make a place look cozy yet sophisticated.

There’s two main reasons why I recommend purchasing coffee table books in a bundle as opposed to individually if you’re looking to use them in your decor:

First (and probably most importantly), it’s way less expensive.

If you search for coffee table books, most of the results you’ll find are individual books priced anywhere between $25-$60 dollars each.

Yes, each! Compare that with this set of three books on Amazon for just under $40.

Even if you found each book for $25, that’s still $75 for all three books, and I’m willing to bet you’d rather pay $40 than $75!

The second reason to purchase your coffee table books in a bundle is simply for convenience.

Looking through hundreds of book options online and in person is overwhelming.

And if you’re not a professional interior designer, it’s hard to choose several books you know will look good together.

Especially if you’re shopping online and can’t easily return them if you don’t like how they look.

So, why not avoid hours of searching and trial and error and purchase a pre-styled, ready to go set of books that’s guaranteed to look good?

That was a lot on just coffee table books, but they’re genuinely one of my favorite decor pieces.

I wanted to share some advice I’ve learned when shopping for them in the hopes it’ll help some of you!

So, back to the rest of my black and white desk decor finds for our first inspiration image.

Another find I’m loving is this white fur chair cover! I love how simple and sleek black and white decor looks.

I also love being able to add a touch of coziness through fur decor or other soft, textured pieces like rugs, blankets, and pillows.

What’s cool about this find is that it doubles as a floor rug, so if you don’t like how it looks draped across your desk chair, try styling it underneath your desk instead.

Next, I have to talk about these fake black flowers!

I’m obsessed with how sophisticated they look and they’re a surefire way to level up your desk decor.

They’re one of those pieces that adds a professional touch to any space.

Finally, I have a very simple yet essential find for you: black pencil cups. These look great as accent pieces in stark contrast against a white desk top.

Plus, they’ll help keep your space clear and organized.

Black & White Desk Idea #2:

Here’s your next black and white desk idea!

This one is perfect if you want to use white as your base color and black more as an accent color, as opposed to the first idea where it’s more of an even split.

You’ll use your furniture and larger decor pieces as your white base and pepper in black accents in the form of smaller desk and wall decor.

For furniture, here’s what I found:

First is this super pretty white and wood-colored desk from Amazon.

This desk isn’t all white, but my other two desk recommendations in this post feature all white options and I wanted to spice things up!

I love the elegance of the slanted legs and the wood top will beautifully compliment the wood legs on the chair.

I just talked about this chair as part of my last black and white desk idea, but this idea actually uses it as well!

Like I said before, the simplicity of the design on this chair makes it super versatile and it looks great in a variety of different decor styles.

It’s practically made for a minimalist interior, but you can easily dress it up with a fur chair cover or a throw pillow to make it match your personal style.

And now for wall and desk decor!

First, I want to talk about these white floating shelves from Amazon.

Floating shelves make for elegant decor that really allows you to make use of the vertical space in an interior.

This means if you’re working with a smaller space, you can use wall decor as part of a visual illusion that will make your space feel taller than it really is.

I go more in depth on this concept in my post “4 Must Know Tips To Make A Studio Apartment Feel Bigger.

Here’s a short excerpt from that post to help illustrate it:

“…placing decor pieces as high as possible draws your eye upwards and continues giving the illusion of a higher ceiling and spacious interior.”

You can easily make use of this concept with floating shelves, wall art, or other wall hangings.

My other tip when it comes to wall shelves would be to place them on a diagonal like in our inspiration image.

This makes your decor look much more dynamic and visually interesting!

To decorate your floating shelves, my top picks to recreate this desk setup have to be these beautiful black framed quote art prints, fake plants, small black alarm clock, and vase set.

Black and white with gray accents is a beautiful color palette with a clean and modern feel. You can use the planters and vases to tie in some gray if you like that look!

Next, I’m excited to talk about this black wall wire grid. I’ve seen these grids all over lately and think they’re so cute.

They’re perfect for hanging up reminders that you want to keep front and center while you’re working so you don’t forget them.

To finish off this look, you’ll love this wavy, furry white rug!

A rug like this is a great way to make a simple, modern desk setup feel warm and cozy.

Plus, you can place this right underneath your desk so your feet will be super comfortable when you’re working!

Black & White Desk Idea #3:

Here’s my third and final black and white desk setup!

If you’re looking to use darker colors like black and gray as your base colors and white as an accent color, this setup is a fantastic one to model your desk after.

To start, let’s take a look at my top furniture find to recreate this look with.

First, we have this classic white desk which comes with four drawers and a slot underneath the desk top for ample storage.

To recreate this look, here are my top wall, desk, and chair decor finds:

My favorite find from this group is probably this black furry chair cover!

Paired with a white chair, it makes for a stunning black and white combo that looks quite sophisticated.

The black and white combination is my favorite thing about this third desk decor setup.

High contrast looks are always super eye-catching and visually intriguing!

The other decor find I’m loving isn’t technically decor at all, but a wood drawing model.

If you don’t know, these are used by artists to practice drawing the human form.

This is definitely a quirky decor piece, but I love the character it brings into a space.

To round out the desk decor, I’ve chosen a white desk top organizer (an essential for every desk set up if you ask me), small black alarm clock, white keyboard, and black dome lamp.

I especially love the lamp because of its unique dome shape. It’s sleek and geometric and definitely adds to that modern feel that’s prominent in black and white themed decor.

If you love a clean, modern, and classic look in your space, I recommend sticking with decor pieces with a geometric shape, whether it’s a circle, rectangle, or something else.

The alarm clock and dome lamp are great examples of this!

In contrast, if you’re looking for a cozier vibe, try choosing pieces with a more natural, organic shape to them.

A great example of this would be the wavy rugs and chair covers I’ve mentioned a couple of times throughout this post.

Decor with organic shapes like this will give your space a softer, cozy feel to them.
