Do you ever feel like sometimes you just simply have no idea what to wear? Even if you have a closet full of clothes?
If that’s you, then no worries because - same! That’s why I love putting together little outfit mood boards like the ones in this article.
Not only are they super fun to make, but it’s like having a whole pre-styled look laid out for you - a huge time saver when you’re getting ready.
So, I thought I’d share some of my “outfit mood boards” with you today! I especially love these ones because they’re a combination of cute and comfortable - perfect to wear to class if you’re a student.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t always feel like putting a ton of effort into my outfit for class - but don’t get me wrong, I still want to look good!
That’s why I love cute outfits like these - ones that use lots of basic pieces that I’m bound to have in my closet and prioritize comfort without sacrificing style. Let’s get into the inspiration!
8 Comfy Outfits For Class
#1: Quarter Zip, Leggings, & Classic White Sneakers
When it comes to comfort, you can’t do much better than a pair of leggings! Wear a classic black pair with a zip-up sweatshirt in a color of your choosing (back goes with anything)!
Although if you love classic and simple styles like me, a grey or neutral colored top is the way to go.
Complete this simple look with white sneakers and equally simple accessories - Nike socks (a comfy favorite of mine), a cute bracelet (ones from Pura Vida are my go-to’s), a hair clip if you feel like keeping your hair out of your face, and matching tech/tech accessories!
#2: Cropped Tee & Comfy Shorts
Calling all fellow neutral lovers! This next outfit is definitely one you’ll want to take inspiration from if shades of tan, beige, brown, and cream are your vibe.
Recently, I’ve become obsessed with soft lounge shorts like the pair in the mood board! I actually bought a couple when I studied abroad in London this summer (couldn’t help myself).
Sadly, one ended up with stains on it (oh, the joys of having a period), and the other one did too - although that was from my tide pods. ):
But hey, I guess that just means I have some shopping for more cute outfits to do, which is never a bad thing in my book!
Anyways, all this to say is that lounge shorts are the perfect intersection of style and comfort - especially high waisted ones, which I’ve always found super flattering on me personally.
Pair your shorts with a cropped t-shirt and some simple gold jewelry to spice things up a bit.
I always find that gold jewelry looks especially stunning with neutral colored outfits, but of course gold goes with anything so be creative and express your own style!

#3: Tank, Running Shorts, & Sneakers
How adorable is this next look?! It’s also super quick and easy to throw on if you’re in a pinch for time. A white tank top is one of those basics every girl needs in her closet!
Dress it up, dress it down, wear it with shorts, a skirt, jeans, layer it under a jacket - it’s just one of those versatile fashion staples that’ll go with literally anything you can think of.
In this case, I’m pairing it with some simple running shorts and sneakers to keep things casual and comfy for class.
I’ve also been loving a square neckline lately. It’s such a beautiful way to show off your collarbone and showcase a pretty necklace, too!
#4: Tank, Cozy Sweatpants, & Chunky Sneakers
Ah, sweatpants. The queen of all comfy clothing. I hope this little mood board shows you that you can make sweatpants look cute!
They don’t have to be a last resort option that you only throw on when you’re in a rush or have nothing else to wear.
When it comes to styling sweatpants, a great way to dress them up a bit is to incorporate other small, stylish details into your outfit.
Some of my favorite ways to do this are bold and chunky sneakers, layered necklace sets, and a cute backpack or purse.
But of course, there’s nothing wrong with keeping your look nice and simple and pairing your sweats with a basic tank or tee.
As long as you’re comfy and feel good in what you’re wearing, that’s what matters most!
And let’s face it - we don’t always have time to style all the little details (as much as we wish we did). Such is the life of a busy student!

#5: Baseball Cap, Oversized Tee, & Biker Shorts
This next look definitely gives me “street wear” vibes - and I am totally here for it. If you love a sporty, casual style definitely try this one out!
To recreate this look, the main things you’ll need are an oversized t-shirt, a pair of biker shorts, and some chunky dad sneakers.
Some cute ideas to accessorize this outfit include wearing a baseball cap, chunky gold jewelry to match the vibe of the sneakers, and carrying your stuff for class in a puffy tote bag!
Also - not related to the outfit itself but the little handheld fan I included in the mood board is such a useful thing to have in your bag for class.
Especially if you’re doing a lot of walking and it’s hot out! It’s just one of those things you’ll never regret having handy.
#6: Comfy Top, Flare Leggings, & Crocs
Whether you call them flared leggings or yoga pants, you can’t deny these types of pants make a cute and comfortable addition to your wardrobe.
Plus, I’ve always found them to really flatter my curves thanks to the fitted material, especially on the booty! Not going to lie, it’s definitely a plus of wearing these.
When it comes to the top, I actually love pairing flared leggings with a soft fitted tank or t-shirt for a cute and feminine (yet still comfy) look. But sometimes, I don’t feel like wearing fitted pieces on both my top and bottom.
On those occasions, I pull out my trusty crewneck, which leads me into a game-changing fashion tip I’ve learned over the years…
The next time you have no idea what to wear, pick an outfit that follows one of these two formulas:
Fitted top, loose bottom. OR: loose top, fitted bottom. Couldn’t be simpler!
Pairing something loose with something fitted is a great way to create a visually balanced outfit that flows really nicely and is really pleasing to look at, too.
Fitted flare leggings on the bottom and a comfy sweatshirt on top is definitely an easy way you can apply this simple outfit formula.
Also, back to the mood board for a second. This is totally what I imagine the pink pilates princess wears to school or wears whenever she’s not doing pilates!

#7: Cutout Tee, Cotton Pants, & Supportive Flip Flops
At first glance, I feel like this next outfit seems on the dressier side - and dressy outfits aren’t exactly known for their comfort.
But - let’s break this down a bit. The main thing of note here is a simple, two word phrase: cotton pants.
If you’re looking for pants that always look chic but are incredibly comfortable and breathable, cotton pants are your new best friend!
I seriously can’t think of another type of pants that make you look like you’re ready for a dinner party but that you could also sleep in if you wanted to.
Pair these beauties with a fitted top and some thick sandals or flip flops (ones with plenty of cushioning because it’s important to take care of your feet)!
Accessorize with some classic jewelry, a hair clip, and a leather tote bag for a polished and professional look that’ll make you feel ready to tackle whatever school throws at you.
#8: Crewneck, Shorts, & Sneakers
Would it really be an article about comfy fashion if I didn’t include at least one crewneck? Here’s a simple, classic outfit idea (and a personal favorite of mine) to end off this post.
Pair a crewneck with some shorts and sneakers and boom - the base of your outfit is all set.
Accessorize with some earrings, a necklace set, or even a ring set and you’re good to go! This is just one of those combinations that can truly never steer you wrong.
