Fall is officially here, and I don’t know about you but I am so ready for all the peaceful and cozy vibes that come with this time of year!
Today, I’m talking about 14 simple things you can do to bring a sense of coziness, comfort, and peace into your everyday life.
These are things that I do (or want to start doing) that make me feel relaxed, safe, and just overall happy! So without further ado, let’s get into it.
How To Live A Peaceful Life
#1: Light A Candle
I’m going to start with a classic. There are few things that bring more cozy vibes than a candle.
And a candle with a wooden wick - or even multiple wicks? Truly one of the little luxuries of life!
For a safer alternative to candles that’ll still give you that same relaxing ambiance, try these battery-operated fake candles instead.
These are perfect for anyone who isn’t allowed to light candles in their residence or for people who have pets and/or kids.
#2: Wear Fuzzy Socks
Picture this: you’re sprawled out on the cough on a crisp fall evening, you have a candle burning, your favorite show on your TV, and fuzzy socks keeping your feet nice and warm.
I can’t think of a more perfect way to spend my evening!

#3: Bake Something Yummy
What’s cozier and homier than baking? For me, I absolutely love a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie - straight out of the oven (after it cools for a few minutes of course).
An extra plus when it comes to baking - your whole kitchen will smell simply delicious.

#4: Feel The Warmth of the Sun
Warm sunlight is truly one of the most comforting and relaxing things in life.
But sunlight can be hard to come by during fall and winter. Good thing there are still ways to get a dose of warm sun when it’s too cold to go outside!
My favorite way to do this is by simply opening my curtains/blinds and letting whatever sunlight there is into my space.
Sunlight is not only great for those coveted cozy vibes, but beneficial for your mental health as well.

#5: Adult Coloring
By now, we all know that coloring isn’t just for kids! Coloring is such a peaceful and relaxing way to calm your mind and simply focus on creating something beautiful.
And when you’re all done, you’ll have a pretty picture to look at! I’d recommend checking out these beautiful adult coloring books where you’ll find gorgeous floral images to bring to life.
#6: Make Yourself A Warm Beverage
Another classic - few things bring feelings of comfort and coziness better than a warm cuppa.
So, whether it’s coffee, tea (my beverage of choice), hot cocoa, apple cider (iconic for fall), or something else - take this as a sign to treat yourself with your favorite beverage tonight. You deserve it!

#7: Crafting
Just like with adult coloring, any type of arts and crafts is perfect for calming your mind and expressing your inner child through creativity.
The options here are just endless - you can try knitting, crocheting, felting, embroidery, watercolor, pen and ink, pottery, candle making, and so many more.
But sometimes, especially if you’re trying something you’ve never done before, crafting can be a little bit intimidating.
That’s why I suggest starting with a small beginners kit. These little kits will come with all the supplies you need and guide you through making a simple craft from start to finish. A perfect way to spend a cozy afternoon at home!
#8: Curl Up In A Blanket
I don’t think I need to do any explaining as to how a blanket can bring you all the warmest and coziest vibes.
Just wrap yourself in one of these, throw on your favorite movie, grab a hot cocoa, and you’ve got yourself an evening! And an especially relaxing one at that.
#9: Listen To Soft Jazz & Lofi
Nothing sets a relaxing ambiance quite like gentle jazz or lofi playing in the background. My go-to places to find playlists in this genre are Spotify and YouTube.
What I love about YT playlists is they often feature beautiful artwork or imagery so you have something pretty to look at and listen to! Some recommendations for fall to check out:
#10: Reading
This is your sign to curl up by the fire with a good book and read the day away. Essentials for a day of reading include plenty of snacks, tea, a blanket, and fuzzy socks!

#11: Watch Your Comfort Show/Movie
We all have shows and movies that we rewatch over and over again no matter how many times we’ve seen them - just because we love them that much.
There’s just something about them that feels like home. For me, that movie is Legally Blonde and that show is Schitt’s Creek. What are yours??
#12: Snuggle With Your Pet
I know this one isn’t something everyone can do, but if you have a pet (and if your pet lets you snuggle them lol) go ahead and do so.
This is just one of those wholesome things in life that makes me so so happy. My cat Cece comes to snuggle and lay on my arm every morning and ahhh I just love her so much! <3
#13: Listen To The Rain
I’m totally one of those people who loves the rain. To me, a rainy morning where I have a candle lit, soft jazz playing in the background, and a warm mug of coffee in hand is the epitome of coziness.
Plus, the sound of raindrops is just so relaxing - whether it’s actual raindrops or from a Youtube video!

#14: Take A Warm Bath Or Shower
I don’t know about you, but for me, a steaming hot shower is the ultimate act of self care. I feel so relaxed during and after - and I love the feeling of being fresh and clean.
For my bath lovers reading this, try using one of these bath trays to bring the ultimate cozy and luxurious vibes to your “me” time.
This is a surefire way to level up your bath and make it into a spa-like experience!
Use your tray to hold your laptop for watching entertainment, candles, snacks, a glass of wine (if you’re old enough of course) etc.
